About this vehicle
A rare piece of Subaru history - a genuine Version 1 STi, 033/200 from Aug 1994.Imported in 2004, I acquired this car from a private seller in 2007, and after enjoying it for a couple of years it then spent the rest of the time in dry storage.It is now MOT'ed (end May 27) and back on the road.
Amongst all the usual service bits, it has recently had thousands of pounds worth of work including:- New timing belt.- All new brake discs, calipers and pads.- New fuel pump (imported OEM part) and seals.- New tyres.- New exhaust, including O2 sensor.
This car has not been messed around with and is pretty much original - although if you were a purist then the front indicators were orange originally.(And I assume it was set up with a UK dash from when it was imported in 2004, since it reads in mph.)
Fitted with a Toad immobiliser, that I still have all the paperwork for, including a never used spare keypad (might need a battery!) with spare key.Also still have some of the original import paperwork I was given from the previous owner.
Full disclosure - the gear box has developed a slight intermittent whine since it was in storage. Gear changes are still smooth and problem free, and although I've only pottered around in it a couple of times over the past few weeks, this seems to be improving - so is likely just from the long time in storage.
Also had the air con re-filled 14/07/26.
This car isn't a project, it's functional, driving nicely and I had forgotten quite how amazing the handling is!It's ready to be driven and enjoyed as it is, or titivated into a show car worth thousands more.A valuation has been added to pictures.
This is a sad sale for me, and I wouldn't be considering moving it on if I could afford to run two cars, but my sensible head has decided to put it up for sale.

HISTORY OF VERSION 1:Most Subaru enthusiasts will know the story of the version 1 STi being selected WRX's taken off the production line and given the STi treatment with various additions and hand-tuning.If not a search will throw up a couple of websites that explain better than I can.There seems to be no agreement as to how many were made, (100 / 200 a month over about a period of a year), and these models were never available new in the UK. Hence they were only available as imports, usually coming here or going to Australia, when they reached the 10 year Japanese cut off.That was 22 years ago so remaining examples are rare, and ones like this that haven't been modified even rarer.
