About this vehicle

Regrettably up for sale is my early Mk2 Astra GTE 2.0 convertible. Alas, time, loss of space and other projects (and age!) means it’s time for it to go to a new home and get the love it deserves. Please don’t waste my time as I won’t waste yours.  The starting price is the reserve. SoI bought this car in Feb 2021 from a family who had it as a project that never got started, taken off the road in 1998 stripped and dry stored. I put it back together, give it a blow over with some fresh paint and got it MOT. Few trips around the mountains and coast and then parked up, mainly as daughter got board of it! Paint work is now pretty poor, time has been unkind to it. Some blistering under paint etc as I had the intention of getting to it one day I have treated any spots with hydrate 80 over the years to stop it getting worse. To get it back on the road it had the following New petrol tank. (£180)Plugs, leads, distributor cap, timing belt? Metal impeller water pump and thermostat.New clutch and concentric slave 4 new budget tyres. Still like new Rear brake cylindersSump gasketRadiatorFront discs and pads (now rusty ofcourse)New drivers side wheel arch welded in Good second hand wings fitted. New bulbs for digi dash. Early tick type although has some bleed. The car only came with the roof frame. So I bought best I could find which is for an electric roof, thus the rams are different. The fuel lines were replaced with copper heating pipe. Not ideal but got it running! It is genuinely a really solid shell and great base for a project
As I had the intentions of going back to it and doing it properly I paid an arm and a leg for brand new white roof and internal headlining. This comes with car, also the original frame. 
One key fits all locks, bar the fuel cap which sadly was missing. Genuine Vauxhall mudflaps on back Bumper plastics were dyed (not painted) so will clean up nice with some thinners. The number plate itself is worth a bitInterior is tidy enough to work with. The odometer never worked, have fitted a new cog but not driven since.  Probably done less than 500 miles since owning !Only 3 former keepers on logbook 
I am sure those who have taken time to read this are familiar with these cars. I have set the price on the lower end of what it’s worth in parts alone. I would prefer it goes as one. If not then I will keep windscreen and bonnet for my other mk2 and break it. Which will be a shame as it deserves to be put back on road. Mechanically i would say it just needs a check over, mot history supports this. It’s really just aesthetics. More than welcome to come view car. And please feel free to ask any questions. Located CF34Starts easily, runs, brakes and selects gears fine. Ofcourse cant drive away as no MOT !

Hi all. I have just opened the box that should have containing the new roof and head lining. Looks like I have been done over.  It only contains the outer roof. Really sorry, not my intention to mislead. Have added photos of the new roof.
