About this vehicle

I am reluctantly offering for sale my 2005 Vauxhall VX220 Turbo, finished in the highly sought-after and particularly rare Moonland Grey, a colour produced in very limited numbers. The car has covered just 38,000 miles.

These cars are becoming increasingly difficult to find, particularly with such low mileage and in this condition. The VX220 is a genuine driver's car - lightweight, mid-engined, rear-wheel drive and wonderfully analogue compared with modern performance cars.

The paintwork is exceptionally good for a car of this age and the car presents extremely well. Although I have not owned the car for a particularly long period, it has been stored in a garage throughout my ownership and only used in dry weather. It has clearly been well cared for and has been kept as an enthusiast's car rather than used as an everyday vehicle.

The service history is unfortunately not as comprehensive as I would ideally like. There is a genuine reason for this, and I would rather be completely transparent about it than attempt to dress it up. What I can say is that the car has been well looked after and its overall condition genuinely speaks for itself.

The cambelt and water pump were replaced in 2023, with the receipt retained, and the car has just had both its MOT and service completed this month.

It comes with both the original hard top and the original soft top, giving the next owner the option to enjoy the car throughout the year and retain the factory specification.

With only 38,000 miles, four previous owners, two keys, both original roofs and excellent overall condition, I believe this is a particularly nice example of an increasingly sought-after modern classic.

The VX220 Turbo offers a driving experience that is becoming increasingly difficult to find – lightweight, simple, fast and incredibly engaging.
