About this vehicle
After 9 years of ownership, the time has come to pass my 1983 XR4i on to an enthusiast who will use and appreciate it properly. It has seen very little use over the last couple of years, though it has strictly been kept as a fair-weather car and never driven in the rain or bad weather while in my care.
Registered as a Historic Vehicle, making it both MOT and road tax exempt, although it is still MoTd until 30/04/2027.
Mileage: 33,000 (unverified given the vehicle's age)
Refreshingly standard and hasn't been "Cosworthified." Retains its genuine character, including a straight, uncut factory parcel shelf.
Modifications / Non-standard items: Retrofitted with power steering (PAS) and the instrument cluster appears to be from a Mk2 Sierra. The rear silencer has been replaced with a homemade straight pipe that is badly made but sounds good, i still have the original complete silencer.
Interior: Very good overall condition throughout, with the exception of a small stain and a tiny hole on the driver’s seat (clearly shown in the photos).
Sunroof: Factory-fitted tilt/slide sunroof. It has remained closed throughout my ownership, so operation is untested.
Bodywork: Solid and presents very well, turning heads wherever it goes. The rear bumper alignment isn't 100% perfect, though it is only noticeable under close inspection.
This is not a concours show queen, but a very clean, honest, and highly usable classic that you can drive and enjoyed without worrying about hurting its value.
