THE LISTING

About this vehicle

1995 Vauxhall Corsa B GSi (lel/VXR 2.0 Turbo)
Professionally developed into a seriously capable old-skool turbo Vauxhall.
The logbook shows just 1 previous owner, with the first keeper owning it for an incredible 27 years, from 06/03/1995 to 14/07/2022. It is also HPI clear, and MOT until 30th March 2027.

Current DVLA-derived figures indicate only around 15 Corsa GSi 16Vs are currently licensed for UK roads.

It’s also an exceptionally clean example. Full bare-metal repaint in 2023, glass-like red paintwork, very tidy engine bay and a very tidy underside, as per the photos.

Engine Spec

So at the heart of it is a heavily developed 2.0 Z20LEL / VXR-spec turbo setup, running circa 330bhp (weighing 950kgs).

VXR pistons • VXR injectors • H-beam con rods • ACL race bearings • Hybrid turbo • Turbosmart actuator • Fully rebuilt, ported & polished head • Double valve springs • Uprated valve-stem seals • Courtenay top hat • EDS inlet • Large K&N air filter • MTC Motorsport silicone hoses • Uprated in-tank fuel pump • Large (hidden) front-mounted intercooler

It’s also had a new timing-belt kit and new water pump, clear plastic cam cover and a brand-new battery, along with Corsa GSi radiator and slimline fan.

The large (hidden) front mount intercooler and pipework are neatly finished and the engine bay is exceptionally clean and well presented, as per the photos.

Gearbox / Drivetrain

F23 gearbox with Vectra B internals • Quaife LSD • Equal-length driveshafts made specifically for the conversion • 4-paddle clutch • TTV flywheel • One-off engine mounts with purple Powerflex bushes

The equal-length shaft setup and Quaife LSD are particularly worthwhile additions on a powerful front-wheel-drive Corsa and show the level of thought that’s gone into the conversion.

It’s a proper drivetrain setup built to deal with the power, not just a big engine dropped into a standard Corsa.

Fuel System

Another nice part of the build is the stainless-steel fuel tank, complete with new sender and fittings, along with the uprated in-tank fuel pump.

Again, it’s the sort of supporting work that separates a properly developed conversion from a basic engine swap.

Suspension / Chassis / Brakes

GAZ adjustable coilovers with the correct poundage springs for the Z20/F23 conversion • Adjustable strut tops • Custom rose-jointed bottom arms • Astra GSi brakes • Braided brake hoses • EPAS

The spring rates have therefore been selected specifically around the additional Z20/F23 drivetrain, rather than simply fitting an off-the-shelf set of coilovers intended for the GSi drivetrain.

It’s been built as a complete package — power, drivetrain, and suspension, not simply a big engine dropped into a standard shell.

Bodywork & Underside

The car underwent a full bare-metal repaint in 2023 and presents superbly.

The red paint is deep, straight and glass-like, with the entire car presenting in one consistent shade. It’s genuinely a very clean car.

The underbody is very tidy, having also been comprehensively refreshed, with components renewed and zinc-coated or powder-coated where appropriate. Addressing any previous.

Freshly refurbished Speedline alloys with Continental tyres finish it off perfectly. A standard GSi spare wheel is in the boot.

Interior

The interior presents quite well and everything works as it should, including the rev counter, speedo , AEM gauge and triple Stack gauges.

The parcel shelf is complete and uncut, and an upgraded head unit is fitted.

Being transparent, there is some wear to the driver’s seat bolster (as in there is a small hole) and a couple of small wear marks to the rear seats/seat backs. The steering column plastic surround is in the boot. Again, not brand new/concourse.
Performance

Circa 330bhp. 950kgs. Hybrid turbo. F23. Quaife LSD.

The result is SAVAGE!!!!!

You can ‘pootle’ along like a normal daily car, However! when that hybrid turbo comes on boost this thing absolutely goes. It pulls hard through the gears and the torque steer on boost is MENTAL.

It’s exactly what you’d expect from a lightweight, high-powered old-school turbo Vauxhall.

No traction control. Just boost, grip, torque steer and proper mechanical feedback.

It starts and runs beautifully, feels extremely healthy and has driven superbly.

It’s raw power, not like today’s sanitised plastic motors. You feel what the engine, turbo, Quaife and chassis are doing, and that’s exactly the appeal.

It was built to embarrass much newer machinery — and it certainly does.

The private registration G21 CSA is included at the asking price.
