About this vehicle
Decided it's time to sell a few of my cars as they just aren't getting used.This ad is for my BMW E60 M5 with the ledgendry V10 F1 engine.
I bought this about 4 years ago in a sorry state and spent a fortune getting her sorted, to the sum of nearly £15k in the end. All the Paper and recipets I've kept and show what was done, off the top of my head it was,
Replace tired suspension all roundComplete wheel refurbAir bag light faults sorted out.Full engine strip down and rebuildNew vanos pipe (to give full power in M mode)New rod bareingsFull serviceNew fuel pump and filters.Loads of sensors replaced.New bonnet relase cable and catch inside the car, There was a lot done to this car and the garage did a brillant job.
Once it was all competed it was bedded in and used locally for a few months before setting off on a European road trip with friends. This also included 2 laps at the Nurburgring in Germany. Talk about a head turner of a car everybody loved it and she got so much attention!!
The car performed faultlessly and was a pleasure to drive all that way.
However I did decide on my return that I would get the gearbox mapped as if you know about these cars, the gear changes can be abit slow. So they did a GTS map I think on the gearbox and it made a massive difference. This is the only mod on the car bh the way.
Loads of history and paperwork.2 x Keys and BMW wallets.There's some emails in the history service history to a chap called Sir Jasper Conran who I think was an interior designer, he orginally bought and specd this car from BMW and he had the very rare and expensive Activ seats put in, so when your in M mode and you turn or accelerate, there is air bags bolsters in the back of the seat that inflate and deflate accordingly to keep you in your seat, very clever stuff back in its day. And all still work now. The email says it's 1 of the most spec BMWs in the world. Coupled with its individual Intergalos paint and white interior aswell, really is a nice car.
It's not for the faint hearted either it really is quick.
Everything works, there is no smokes or bangs, it really ready to be used and enjoyed by its new owner. It's currently sitting in my dry unit on a trickle charger.
Hpi clear never crashed.MOT till Jan 202779k milesDone around 2k miles since last MOTPrivate plate comes with the car.
Downsides to the car, (every car has issues so don't know why people lie and hide them)The chrome plates could do with replacing on the interior as you open the doors on the floor.
Needs a wash and clean up again. The seats could do with a good scrub up and deep clean.
