A genuine 1967 Vauxhall Cresta PC Baseline, offered for sale as an increasingly rare and unusual survivor. This is a car for someone with the time, enthusiasm and patience to give it the care it deserves.

The car is tired and shows its age, and I want to be completely honest about its condition. The original paintwork has many imperfections, including areas of blistering, marks, fading, cracking and general deterioration. It is certainly not a concours example and the exterior will require attention if the new owner wishes to bring it back to a higher standard.

However, underneath the car is good and solid, which makes this a particularly interesting basis for restoration. Despite its cosmetic imperfections, it gets attention everywhere I go. I have taken it to several car shows and it drives in a lovely manner. Mechanically, it is a good car. After being valeted, it is presentable. It remains a very good and genuine example of the model and, importantly, an unusual survivor of the increasingly rare Cresta PC Baseline.

The Baseline/standard PC was the less commonly seen version of the Cresta, and surviving examples are now extremely scarce. This makes the car an exceptionally rare and unusual survivor, particularly for anyone interested in preserving less-common British cars from the 1960s.

The car has been changed from the original steering-column gear change to a floor-mounted gear change. I have retained the original steering-column gear-change, together with a spare gearbox, which will be included with the car. This gives the next owner the opportunity to return the car to its original configuration if desired.

It needs time, care, patience and enthusiasm, but it offers the opportunity to take on a genuinely rare British classic with a solid foundation and considerable potential.

Please study the photographs carefully before making an enquiry. The car has numerous imperfections to the paintwork and body, including blistering, and I am deliberately being open about its condition. It is a rolling project that needs love and attention, but underneath it is a solid and worthwhile example. It can still be used as it is and still grabs attention, looks good and nice to drive, with cosmetic details which need to be addressed on closer inspection. 

I use Lanoguard underneath the car and keep it under cover. It was previously garaged but now, there is no room for this car, as I have other projects existing. I would prefer this car to go to someone who has room for it and where it can be stored properly, without risk of further deterioration from humidity and other weathering elements.
