THE LISTING
About this vehicle
During the 80's Rover started naming some of their limited edition Mini's after areas of London. There was the Chelsea, Kensington, Mayfair, Ritz, Piccadilly and Park Lane. To celebrate the Tennis Championship they decided to call one the Wimbledon but this was stopped by the Tennis Association so they quickly renamed it the Advantage.Mini Advantage

- Based on: Mini Mayfair
- Engine: 998 cc
- Exterior colour:
- Diamond White (NMN - BLVC655)
- Exterior trim: Grey bumpers and door handles; white wheel covers for the 12-inch steel wheels; Nimbus grey plastic wheel arch extensions and sill finishers
- Decals/badges: Tennis-net theme on lower body sides with "Advantage" script logo; Advantage logo on upper right of bootlid
- Interior: Flint Grey and Jade Green "Tennis Net" cloth on seats and door panels
- Equipment: Tachometer, radio-cassette, tinted glass, opening rear windows with chrome surround
First launched in France in May 1987 to coincide with the French Open, the Mini Advantage also appeared in the UK in June of that year to be available during The Championships, Wimbledon. Originally the name was to be the Mini Wimbledon, to match the London theme of the other names, but the All England Lawn Tennis Association would not allow this use of name with a tennis themed styling.
According to HOW MANY LEFT there are only 47 left on the British roads so now a rare collectors piece. This particular car is in excellent condition both inside and out and is showing only 35,700 miles. Whilst the mileage can't be warranted it looks to be correct. It still has the original white wheel covers and sits on a nice set of 145/70/12 Pirrelli Cinturato tyres. The chrome mirrors, wipers, aerial, light rings and grill surround are all in great order. It has been fitted with a very nice Kenwood DAB radio stereo with 3 speakers on the rear shelf. The 998cc engine and 4 speed gearbox starts well and runs great showing a fair turn of speed. Very clean engine bay and boot area with all the tools and a nice spare wheel. It has a pair of inertia belts in the front and statics in the back. It has a current MOT with no advisories and has just had a service with new oil filter, air filter, oil and plugs. There is also a nice spread sheet from the last owner detail how they spent £3700 on the car between 2021 and 2023. Being a 1987 it will be tax and MOT exempt as of next year.
