About this vehicle

Let's be realistic for a moment.
How many classic Imprezas are actually left for sale? I'm talking about all GC8s combined. Now narrow that down to genuine Type RA and STI models in original condition or with sensible, period-correct upgrades, and the numbers become surprisingly small.
Every year more are written off, modified beyond recognition, succumb to rust, or disappear into long-term private collections. The supply isn't growing—it's shrinking.
In another 5–10 years, finding a genuine RA or STI won't just be difficult; it'll be a rare occasion. And when one does appear, don't be surprised if values are double what they are today.
I've been around Subarus for over 20 years, and I've watched the market change. The days of finding clean, genuine examples at sensible money are already disappearing.
Mark my words.
If you've ever wanted to own one of these iconic cars, don't wait until everyone else realises what they're worth. Buy the best example you can while you still have the chance.

This is a genuine 1996 Japanese-import Subaru Impreza Type RA (Rally Altered). The car was imported to the UK in 2007 and has been enthusiast-owned for most of its life. Between 2007 and 2019 the car was owned by a long-term enthusiast who maintained it meticulously with extensive work carried out mostly by Scoobyclinic.
The speedometer currently shows approx. 126k (combined KM and miles) which converts to roughly 90k miles. All mileage conversion certificates are present to prove and consistent.
The car has been extremely well maintained and comes with a huge folder of receipts and invoices, including over £50k spent, with around £14k covering the engine and gearbox rebuilds alone.
I have owned the car for around 6 years and have only used it during few summers while it was dry as a weekend car. It has always been stored carefully. During my ownership it has received annual oil services and maintained regardless of mileage, New clutch fitted last year. The original issue turned out to be a worn clutch pedal pin sleeve which had damaged the pedal hole; this was repaired and replaced at the same time, so the clutch and pedal assembly are now in excellent working order.
The car drives exactly as it should and produces approximately 300BHP, with dyno printouts available.
