About this vehicle
Here we have a lovely, and now very rare V6 SRI, which I have owned for just over a year now, having purchased it from a garage after the former owner, who had it since new, had become very unwell with dementia.The car is an early pre-face lift, with the top-of-the-range 2.5 V6, manual gearbox, but in the SRI trim, so it has the 170hp engine, sports seats, air conditioning, and alloy wheels to name some of the features. It is also finished in a beautiful metallic blue, that almost looks purple in bright sunlight.
The car has been lovely cared for throughout its entire life, and that is clear to see from the condition it is in, and the amount of paperwork that I have for the car since the early 2010s. It has had a no-expense spared approach, and prior to my ownership was always maintained by the same garage. Unfortunately, when the former owner died, the service history from early in the car's ownership was lost in his home, so I do not have everything the car ever had.
Initially, I never considered selling the car, but as I have too many and I simply don't drive this car enough, I have decided it should go to a new loving keeper.

Bodywork/chassis:
The car presents very well for its age, though being almost 30 years old and having just over 100,000 miles on it, it does feature some stone chips, small scrapes, and some surface rust to the front of the rear arches. When I purchased the car, I discovered it had some rot to the chassis rails, which is very common for these and has been the demise for many, though I have had these professionally repaired and images can be provided of the work.
The windows are all in great shape, function as they should, there is very few door dings or dents on the car, and the plastics are free of any cracks. Sills are completely rust free, and the car is solid to say the least.
Engine and drivetrain:
The engine pulls strong, sounds great, cruises well, doesn't smoke, knock, or make any concerning noises. It presents very well, blows nice cold AC, and gets great MPG considering its a V6. It has a minor oil leak, which lets go of a drop roughly once week, though its been so slow that its never needed a top up on oil. The engine has benefitted from a new air filter, oil filter, and oil, which I changed when I purchased the car under 1,000 miles ago.
The gearbox feels tight, the clutch engages well, makes no worrying noises, and is fun to shift.
Suspension and brakes:
Brakes straight and quickly, pads and discs have plenty of meat left on them, no binding or anything concerning, and handbrake works well. Suspension has no knocks or rattles and works well, and is very comfortable, if not on the sporty side.
All the tyres have plenty of tread on them, and the car tracks straight, so all are in good shape.
Electronics:
Almost everything works as it should, including entertainment system, front electric windows, lights and and there are no errors on the dashboard or codes. The only thing that doesn't work is the rear passenger central locking, but this doesn't stop them from being locked or unlocked manually by any means.
Interior:
Given the age, the interior is in amazing condition and has that typical lovely Vauxhall smell. The bolsters on the sports seat are still in mint condition, and free of any stains. The car has never been smoked in and has been kept very clean. There is no sagging from the head liner, and everything you would expect is in great condition, even the gear shifter gaiter and handbrake gaiter, which typically completely dissolve over time.
