Austin Mini 25th Anniversary Edition

This classic mini is a genuine 1984 Austin Mini 25th Anniversary Edition fitted with a 998cc engine.

The car was purchased as a bare shell, it had been completely stripped, most of the original parts were there in a multitude of boxes.

The shell has now been fully restored, primed and repainted in the correct colour scheme and graphics.

The almost new sub-frames have been sand-blasted and powder-coated.

The headlights have been upgraded to modern LED units.

The seats and door cards are all original, have been cleaned and are in very good condition although the seats could benefit from having new foams.

New red carpets have been purchased and fitted.

The dashboard is not standard, it is an after-market full width ‘Gloss Piano Black’ unit and includes extra Smiths gauges for Vacuum / Performance (needs connecting); Oil Pressure and a Clock.

The steering wheel is the original Mini 25 embossed one.

New red front seat belts have been fitted - this model did not have rear seat belts.

The majority of the wiring and electrics have been replaced and updated with fused-relays protecting all the main circuits. New column stalks and some of the switches have been replaced.

The engine that came with the car was a 1275cc unit, this has been replaced with the correct engine for this model a refurbished 998cc engine and gearbox from a mini specialist in Longhope, Gloucestershire.

It has the correct rebuilt SU HS4 carburettor.

The engine has been professionally set up and tuned.

All the other mechanical components have been thoroughly checked and where necessary new ones purchased: New brakes and pipes; new adjustable suspension; new high performance alloy radiator; new RC40 exhaust; new steering rack; new front wings and bonnet plus too many other parts to list but all receipts are available.

The wheels have been replaced with Minilite alloys, locking wheel nuts and new tyres.

The original wheel trims are available but in poor condition.

The mileage when it was last on the road was 65,493 - Last MOT July 2014.

This is a genuine Mini 25th Anniversary model and has had a lot of money and time spent on it to get it to this condition.

There is room for some minor improvement but nothing major that would stop the new owner from using it immediately.

It is a well sorted, well restored, quite rare classic car and now needs a new home.
