Ford Escort Ghia Cabriolet Automatic Very Rare!Please only bid if you intend on buying the Car. As this is re-listed due to a time waster!
Both keys present with book pack and service history up to 43k. The mileage is a genuine 46k!
I bought this cabriolet a few months back from Mathewson's (Bangers & Cash) as a future project. I have started it. I have removed the off side front wing and bumper as they were not salvageable. I have fit the new wing but it is only bolted on the A post as the rest requires spot welding. The bumper has a crack but will repair.
These are simple jobs for the right person. The car in my possession has had new front coil springs, new front discs and pads and I have also purchased a new radiator which will require fitting. A ll tyres are good and the wheels are in very good condition. No welding is required to the underside. The arches to the rear are solid with just surface rust. The hood is excellent. It did work but stopped so i have released the pressure valve so it can be put down manually. All other electrics work as does the radio and electric aerial.
The car has had a pre MOT and was given a near clean bill of health other than the following which would have failed an MOT if I had in fact done so.
Brake Lights inoperable (Fixed), O/S front wing has sharp edges (bottom), Radiator leaking and a headlight bulb (fixed) which i found very impressive for a Mk6 Ford Escort as the usually are rot boxes. However it was declared at the auction this had been dry stored which would have helped.
The car is the CVT automatic and drives absolutely brilliant. The engine is lovely and should be for 46,000 miles. This is a car worthy of some TLC and putting back on the road. But as mentioned time is an issue as i own other classic fords. So she needs to go and be brought back to her former glory. The bodywork is the main issue as you can see per photos.
