THE LISTING

About this vehicle

Ford Focus ST225 2.5 Turbo – Dreamscience Spec – DMO Rebuilt Engine

Very reluctant sale of my 2008 Ford Focus ST225 2.5 Turbo in Electric Orange.

The car has covered 147,000 miles on the shell, however the engine was professionally rebuilt by DMO Motorsport and has covered only 10,436 miles since the rebuild.

The rebuild cost £4,280, and I have the DMO Motorsport build sheet/invoice as proof of the work carried out.

The rebuild included the all-important block mod, honed bores, piston rings, big end bearings, main bearings, crank and sump seals, cylinder head skim, genuine Ford head gasket and bolts, timing belt kit, water pump, auxiliary belts, oil filter housing and numerous other seals and gaskets.

It was also compression tested, leak-down tested and given a full health check.

Performance Spec

The car has a very comprehensive Dreamscience-based setup, including:

  • Stage 3 intercooler
  • 3-inch solid boost pipes
  • 3-inch downpipe
  • 3-inch decat
  • 3-inch Piper exhaust system
  • 3-inch aluminium crossover pipe with performance air filter
  • RS 440cc injectors
  • Airtec plenum
  • RS vacuum pipe
  • Forge uprated turbo actuator
  • Uprated recirculation valve
  • Refurbished/remanufactured ST225 turbo
  • Wisbech Engineering RS ECU holder
  • RS clutch and flywheel
  • Genuine Ford MAP sensor
  • RS spark plugs
  • Dreamscience iMap / mapping setup

I also have the pre-loaded Dreamscience flashing handset, which comes with the car. This allows the maps to be changed at the roadside simply by plugging the handset into the car — no laptop or additional equipment required.

The car has previously made around 360bhp on a dyno, although I no longer have the dyno printout so I can’t prove the exact figure. The Dreamscience setup/build information also references the modXRS 330hp map.

Either way, it is a seriously fast Focus ST and definitely isn’t for the faint-hearted.

It runs well beyond the standard ST’s 1.2-bar boost gauge range, so it has been fitted with RS clocks and RS auxiliary gauges.

Chassis & Supporting Mods

  • JOM suspension
  • J&R driveshafts
  • Accelera 651 semi-slick front tyres
  • RS clutch and flywheel

Exterior

The car benefits from:

  • Maxton Design low-line kit
  • Maxton Design rear diffuser
  • RS Large rear spoiler
  • Black roof
  • White multi-spoke alloys
  • Tinted rear glass
  • Twin-exit exhaust

The car was also repainted approximately 2.5 years ago, so it doesn’t suffer from the dreaded lacquer peel that is extremely common on Electric Orange STs.

It isn’t a brand-new car and naturally has some age-related marks, but overall it presents very well and has had a serious amount of money spent on it.

Other Mechanical Work

As well as the engine rebuild and performance work, it has also had:

  • Replacement power steering pump
  • Replacement radiator
  • Replacement coolant pipe
  • Air-conditioning pump(the aircon works)
  • Gearbox oil changed
  • Coolant/antifreeze changed
  • Full service including RS spark plugs

Interior

Inside it has the orange/black ST interior, 6-speed manual gearbox, upgraded touchscreen head unit and the RS clocks and gauges.

Key points

147,000 miles on the shell
10,436 miles since DMO Motorsport engine rebuild
£4,280 rebuild with proof/build sheet
Block-modded engine
Dreamscience performance setup
Dreamscience flashing handset included
Stage 3 intercooler / 3-inch boost pipes / 3-inch Piper exhaust / RS injectors / Airtec plenum / Forge actuator
Repainted 2.5 years ago – no usual Electric Orange lacquer peel

This isn’t just a standard high-mileage ST with a map thrown on it. It has had the engine properly rebuilt and has the supporting hardware to go with the power.

Seriously quick, sounds fantastic and isn’t for the faint-hearted.

I’d also like to mention this car since rebuilt has been run on 99 Tesco momentum only and warmed up and cooled down this is an essential part for these cars if you know anything about the 2.5 you MUST warm it up before driving and cool it down after driving on average I leave it idling for 10/12 minutes after every drive so the oil temps drop into the ideal ranges

Genuine reason for sale . First child ;(

Serious enquiries only please – no silly offers.
