About this vehicle
P13S JK plate included.This is a car I originally purchased with the intention of keeping long term. At the time I had free indoor storage available at a friend’s property and planned to enjoy the car myself, to work on it with my son. Unfortunately, the storage is no longer available as my friend is selling the property, and I simply don't have anywhere suitable to keep the Porsche other than outside. I therefore can't justify the cost of alternative storage and have reluctantly decided to let it go.
The car has recently had an MOT in June. The only item required was a headlamp bulb, no advisories, and the car was given a thorough check over. A brake-fluid change was recommended, which was subsequently carried out.
I have personally carried out a recent oil service, including: • New battery • Engine oil and Liqui Moly • Oil filter • Air filter • Pollen filter
The service was carried out approximately 500 miles ago. Receipts supplied.
The car starts, runs and drives well. There is no smoke, excessive oil consumption, unusual engine noises, sooty tailpipes or leaks.The clutch is performing well. It engages properly, feels solid and does not slip under load.
Before I purchased the car, I did a car check which shows this car came with a clean title and 5 previous owners . I also had a ppi carried out. I have included photographs of the inspection report in the listing. This was done only 700miles ago. The inspecting mechanic was very positive about the overall mechanical condition of the car.
The items highlighted during that inspection have subsequently been addressed, including the washer jets, rear wiper issue and handbrake adjustment.
The report did mention a possible slight knock from the front, potentially from a drop link. I have never found this to be particularly noticeable during my ownership, but I would rather mention it for complete transparency.
The Porsche comes with a collection of history and receipts, which will be supplied with the car. This includes, history for brakes clutch, brake lines etc. Also included is 2 x keys and an additional key remote.
There is no documented evidence of an IMS replacement, so I am making no claims regarding this. The car has covered approximately 122,800 miles and continues to run well. I have been advised by Porsche specialists that, given the mileage, they would not be overly concerned, although I cannot verify whether the IMS bearing has been replaced.
This is a 24-year-old Porsche, and the bodywork is not perfect. I would much rather be completely honest about this than make the car sound better than it is.
The paintwork in places shows its age, also evidence of previous touch-ups to some panels. The wheel arches show signs of some bubbling and rust around the underside lips. Very commonIssue. All the outer arches appear solid.The car was one I intended to gradually improve over time, so hasn’t this bothered me as was to be dry stored.
For someone who wants to enjoy and drive the car but handy, or someone looking for a 996 C4S to take on as a long term project and improve gradually, I think it offers a good opportunity.
This is a manual example with no sunroof, embossed Porsche crest electric seats, Bose sound system colour coded dash surround, leather dash all desirable features to name a few.
The car has also had an Apple CarPlay head unit installed, bringing modern connectivity while retaining the usability of the car for everyday driving.
