Subaru Impreza Version 4 WRX STI – Fresh Japanese Import – 1998

A genuine, freshly imported Version 4 WRX STI that stands apart from many UK cars which have had multiple owners over the years. Imported directly from Japan this year, this is an exceptionally clean and honest example with a superb underside and excellent overall condition.

• Interior is in excellent original condition, including the factory Subaru floor mats

History

The car comes complete with its original Japanese book pack, owner’s manuals and service history. It received a timing belt replacement and full service in Japan before export. Although it wasn’t due another service, I have also carried out a full service in the UK for complete peace of mind.

It has also been fitted with four brand-new tyres.

• Genuine carbon fibre STI strut brace
• Brake master cylinder stopper
• Defi oil pressure, oil temperature and water temperature gauges with Defi controller, mounted in a Subaru-specific pod that can be removed if desired. No holes have been drilled into the dashboard.

Engine

I was informed by the supplying dealer in Japan that the engine is a 2.1-litre stroker build. I have no documentation to confirm this, so I cannot guarantee it. However, having owned several Imprezas, this car feels noticeably stronger than a standard Version 4 STI and sounds like it has high lift cams

This is a genuine, clean and increasingly difficult-to-find Version 4 WRX STI that has remained largely original, with only subtle, high-quality modifications. It drives exceptionally well, pulls strongly throughout the rev range and is an absolute pleasure to own.
