Toyota Celica GT 2005 – 190BHP – Spares or Repairs

I’ve owned this Celica GT for almost 13 years. It’s the rare GT model with the 190bhp engine, alcantara/leather seats, factory big spoiler, skirts, front splitter and the GT‑specific wheels. Totally standard and unmodified.

Bad Points / Known Issues

• Engine has recently developed a tappet‑type noise. Mechanic has advised it’s coming from the timing chain. Small metal filings were found in the oil filter.
• Failed MOT on emissions and a snapped front offside spring.
• Noticeable oil leak.
• Mileage: 222,320 miles.
• Dent in driver’s door (pictured). Small chip in the paint — I applied a bit of grease to prevent rust.
• Old repair on the offside wing — paint has started to go again (pictured).
• Front splitter has damage and general stone chips on the paintwork.
• All wheels have kerbing.
• P0410 engine management code (secondary air injection pump). I previously replaced the pump but it failed again; I’ve been clearing the code with an OBD reader for MOTs.
• Exhaust has a slight blow.

Good Points

• Rare GT model — only around 700 were made.
• Air‑conditioning works.
• Comes with 3 keys.
• 4 new tyres fitted around 4 months ago.
• Only 4 previous owners from new.
• Drives straight and doesn’t pull to one side.

Important

Due to the engine noise, metal filings in the oil and MOT failure, I am listing this as Spares or Repairs. The car drove back to my driveway fine, but I cannot say how long the engine will last. Collection by trailer is strongly recommended.
