THE LISTING
About this vehicle
This Caterham came to me in kit form as a part exchange for a race Porsche I was selling at the time. It had just come back from Arch Motors having had a new long front chassis after the original owner, from new, had a small collision with the tyre wall. While at Arch they completely re skinned the chassis as well, I then had it painted in Ford Race Red and we started to rebuild the Caterham. We ran a Caterham race team for many years, winning many championships and trophies along the way so it has been in very good hands. The much sort after Vauxhall Red Top Engine had been rebuilt apparently, we did remove the head and yes it all looks great in there. It was taken to a rolling road recently and produced 168 bhp at the wheels which equates to 220 bhp at the flywheel. The Nodiz electronic ignition revs out at 7000rpm but the motor would be good at 8000rpm if needs be.Spec. 1992 Caterham Imperial Chassis - Wide Track. 2.0lt Vauxhall Red Top 16v Twin 48 DCOE's Webbers. Type 9 5 speed Straight Cut Gear Box. ZF Limited Slip Diff. Spare Wide Rear Arch's. Spare Set of Wheels, Wider Rears. Head Lights and Stalks are included (if you want to make it road worthy and register the car with the DVLA)
