Vauxhall Cavalier 1.7td CDX Isuzu Engine Diesel - MOT Fail - Spares/RepairsOwned by myself since October 2015. Absolutely gutted to have to sell this car. Have owned 7 of these turbo diesel cavaliers and have to say that the Isuzu engine in these is totally bulletproof. I am the 5th owner in 31 years. It’s the CDX version which was the top of the range model back in 1995. I believe this is the only CDX version left in the UK.Being sold as spares/repairs due to failing MOT most notably due to the amount of welding required. I have included a photo of the MOT refusal certificate so you can see what work is required. It also failed on exhaust emissions which is a frequent occurrence when I take it for an MOT. I have included 5 litres of engine oil as well as the oil/fuel/air filters as it was due to be serviced at the same time as the MOT. I will also include lots of spares which will be placed in the boot including a clutch kit (brand new/still boxed). This was purchased about 8 years ago but I’ve never needed to use it. Timing belt kit and water pump was last replaced about 10 years ago when the car had covered 58k miles. It has covered 21k miles over that 10 year period.It has a factory fitted immobiliser installed operated from the key fob. This car has only covered 78k miles in 31 years!!! Absolutely nothing for what these engines are capable of. Some of my previous models have covered over 300k.The car starts and drives fine as it was used mainly as a secondary car. Headliner needs to be addressed as it’s sagging which is common on these models. Occasionally have issues with the car starting via the key fob. I usually get round this issue by resetting the immobiliser button from within the car. Other than that, I hope this can be of use to someone as it looks too good to scrap.Payment is cash on collection only. Strictly no timewasters tolerated. Obviously the car will need to be trailered away due to no MOT present.
